Listen as Suzanne gives you a two minute overview of SER, Meridians, and Yin Organs
SER, Meridians and Yin Organs is an on demand professional study group for CranioSacral Therapists and students trained through the Upledger Institute International who have completed SER1.
This study group explores the integration of traditional Chinese meridian theory—especially the six primary Yin organ channels—into CranioSacral Therapy practice. Framed through Dr. Upledger’s pioneering curiosity about energy systems, this program bridges classical acupuncture concepts with hands-on CST assessment and SomatoEmotional Release (SER) processes.
The program is facilitated by Suzanne Scurlock, CST-D, a senior instructor with more than 40 years of experience teaching CranioSacral Therapy. Participants receive lifetime access to professionally recorded lectures, demonstrations, and clinical Q&A.
Prerequisite: SER 1
Investment: Only $99
Meridian Flow Meets CranioSacral Listening
Through live demonstration and case-based teaching, participants learn how meridian work does not replace CST—but deepens it.
In this study group, you will explore:
The six Yin organ meridians: Liver, Kidney, Spleen, Lung, Heart, and Pericardium which house chronically held emotional memory
How meridian disruptions may show up as emotional repetition, depletion, decision-making challenges, anger, depression, and post-surgical “breaks” in energetic flow
How to differentiate meridian flow energetics such as depletion or stagnation
How energy cysts can impact meridians creating blockages
The importance of restoring reserves before beginning the SomatoEmotional Release process
How intention, direction of energy, and cold laser support can enhance integration
This immersive study group guides practitioners in:
Palpating meridian qualities through a CST-informed lens
Understanding the emotional correspondences of each of the Yin organs
Recognizing seasonal influences (such as the Wood element and Liver activation in spring)
Identifying surgical scar disruptions along meridian pathways
Facilitating the reconnection of “broken” meridian flow through intention and neutral presence
Discussion regarding the difference between healthy outrage and reactive rage in the Liver system
Prioritizing Kidney replenishment when systems are depleted

By participating in this study group, practitioners will:
Refine their ability to palpate and differentiate energetic qualities within organ systems
Understand that depletion must be addressed before emotional release work can be effective
Restore meridian continuity disrupted by trauma or surgery
Learn how to support Kidney reserves for health and wellbeing
Strengthen practitioner boundaries to prevent unintended energetic transference
When you understand and can read how the meridians and yin organ systems operate optimally, it inform and deepens every CST session you do. Such as:
When a client’s energy is depleted, emotional processing may stall or become overwhelming.
Depleted Kidney energy can prevent effective SER
Treating depletion first improves efficiency and outcomes
When meridian flow is disrupted, patterns may repeat despite prior work.
Chronic anger, indecision, or depression may reflect Liver imbalance
Surgical scars may interrupt energetic meridian continuity
Reconnecting flow may resolve long-standing relational or emotional loops
All components were professionally recorded live over Zoom.
Your registration includes:
A full-length lecture on SER, Meridians and Yin Organs
Live demonstration illustrating organ assessment, depletion treatment, and meridian reconnection
Clinical insights drawn from over four decades of teaching and clinical experience
Practitioner Q&A
Lifetime access via the Online Training Center (OTC)
This study group is designed for CranioSacral Therapists who are SER1 graduates seeking to:
Deepen palpation literacy and energetic discernment
Integrate meridian theory seamlessly into CST sessions
Improve efficiency and integration in SomatoEmotional Release work
Students described SER, Meridians, and Yin Organs as a practical and meaningful expansion of their CST and SER work. Many found value in learning how meridians relate to organs, emotions, chronic issues, and patterns that may feel stuck or unresolved.
The live demonstration and immediate practice helped participants see how these concepts can be integrated into real sessions, giving them another way to listen to the body and support clients with greater clarity.
SER, Meridians and Yin organs provided me with the tools needed to be better prepared to help facilitate sessions with clients dealing with seasonal patterns of emotion and chronic/stuck emotion in the body system. Just knowing the role of the kidneys and the kidney meridian alone seems like it would have a profound impact for clients on their healing journeys.
A specific focus on meridians and organs was like the missing piece from the SER1 experience.
This course was very enlightening and I was able to put into practice the techniques I learned, almost immediately. It was also helpful to see Suzanne's process and then immediately practice with other practitioners. I've already deepened my practice after this course; thank you.
I appreciated the demo in which Suzanne talked us through all the steps of what she was intending and noticing and feeling, and the way she got the "client" to participate in her own healing session.
This is a great course to expand the SER1.
I really enjoyed this session and was excited to apply it right away with the practice session.
