Open to ALL CST levels (from CST 1 and above)
Lifetime Access Only $99

Effectively Supporting Individuals with Alzheimer’s and dementia using CranioSacral Therapy is an on demand professional study group for CranioSacral Therapists and students trained through the Upledger Institute International.
This study group explores how foundational CranioSacral Therapy principles can support clients experiencing Alzheimer’s, dementia, and other forms of cognitive decline. Rather than treating disease, practitioners learn how to support fluid dynamics, reduce inflammatory load, regulate the autonomic nervous system, and enhance whole-system resilience — especially cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) flow, vascular and lymphatic movement, and cranial rhythm integrity.
The program is facilitated by Suzanne Scurlock, CST-D, a senior instructor with more than 40 years of experience teaching CranioSacral Therapy. Participants receive lifetime access to professionally recorded lectures, demonstrations, and clinical Q&A.
Open to ALL CST levels (from CST 1 and above)

Understand → Assess → Regulate → Mobilize → Support
A foundational CST approach to cognitive health and aging.
This study group integrates:
Clinical reasoning around the multifactorial nature of cognitive decline
Review and refinement of Cranial 1 assessment skills (SQAR - Symmetry, Quality, Amplitude, Rate)
Still points, cranial pumping, and upper 10-Step Protocol applications
Framing treatment possibilities, limitations and ethical scope language
Technical precision combined with therapeutic presence
The five major contributing pathways to cognitive decline:
Chronic inflammation
Hormonal and metabolic factors
Toxic load
Vascular insufficiency
Trauma
How reduced CSF flow and glymphatic congestion impact brain health
Why inflammation narrows fluid channels and contributes to tissue change
The role of still points as a global “fluid flushing” mechanism
How to assess Symmetry, Quality, Amplitude, and Rate (SQAR) in aging clients
Application of foundational Cranial 1 techniques for cognitive support
Clinical communication: treating the person, not the diagnosis
By the end of this study group, participants will be able to:
Apply foundational CranioSacral techniques strategically to support clients experiencing cognitive decline
Assess and interpret cranial rhythm changes related to aging
Integrate still points, cranial pumping, and upper 10-Step Protocol refinements into practice
Confidently communicate within ethical scope while positioning CST as part of a comprehensive health support model
Cognitive decline is progressive and often develops 10–20 years before symptoms appear.
Early intervention may support fluid movement and nervous system regulation
Foundational CST techniques can be applied as a comprehensive support model
Practitioners can educate clients and caregivers about supportive strategies
The CranioSacral system reflects whole-body health.
Sluggish rhythm often mirrors systemic inflammation or vascular compromise
Gentle manual techniques can encourage parasympathetic regulation
Thorough foundational work produces meaningful systemic change
All components were professionally recorded live over Zoom.
Your registration includes:
A full-length lecture on Effectively Supporting Individuals with Alzheimer’s and Dementia using CranioSacral Therapy
Live demonstration illustrating still points, cranial pumping, thoracic inlet release, hyoid release, cranial base decompression, CV-4 precision, and upper 10-Step applications
Clinical insights drawn from four decades of teaching and clinical experience
Practitioner Q&A
Lifetime access via the Online Training Center (OTC)
This study group is designed for CranioSacral Therapists and students of CranioSacral Therapy seeking to
Confidently work with clients experiencing dementia or cognitive decline
Refine foundational CST1 techniques for complex clinical presentations
Integrate health enhancing messaging and ethical scope language into practice

Suzanne Scurlock, CST-D
Creator of Healing From the Core®
For more than 40 years, Suzanne Scurlock — senior instructor for the Upledger Institute International — has been helping CranioSacral Therapists and students strengthen and refine their palpation skills, sensitivity, grounded therapeutic presence, and confidence.
Her live courses, online study groups, and mentoring sessions support practitioners in every stage of their journey — from first discovering CranioSacral Therapy to mastering advanced SER work and beyond.
Suzanne is the author of two acclaimed books: Full Body Presence: Learning to Listen to Your Body’s Wisdom and Reclaiming Your Body: Healing from Trauma and Awakening to Your Body’s Wisdom.
Michael Morgan, CST-D
Michael has a whole curriculum and certification process that he has created over the last 15 years to train therapists who want to specialize in treating people who face these cognitive challenges.
Please join us as I interview him and draw out the gold nuggets of what he knows about this debilitating disease process. Come learn the where, when, and how to support patients and clients using CST techniques that are accessible to us all.
Michael will share what you can do as a therapist to support your clients or patients at each stage.

Details on Our Study Groups
All the lectures, demos, and Q&A were filmed live over Zoom. You can watch from your location with a practice partner or on your own.
The beauty of this type of study group is that the cost of registration gives you lifetime access to the video to watch as many times as you need so you will get all the nuances that you may have missed during the initial lecture and demonstration. You can revisit the material again and again until you feel confident to put the skills into practice.
