Open to ALL CST levels (from CST 1 and above)
Lifetime Access Only $99

COVID, the Immune System & Long COVID: Clinical Applications for CranioSacral Therapists is an on demand professional study group for CranioSacral Therapists and students trained through the Upledger Institute International.
This study group integrates the biomedical understanding of SARS-CoV-2 with advanced craniosacral clinical reasoning, helping practitioners work safely and effectively with COVID, post-viral fatigue, and long COVID presentations.
The program is facilitated by Suzanne Scurlock, CST-D, a senior instructor with more than 40 years of experience teaching CranioSacral Therapy. Participants receive lifetime access to professionally recorded lectures, demonstrations, and clinical Q&A.
Open to ALL CST levels (from CST 1 and above)
Investment: Only $99
A deep dive into immune dysregulation, systemic vulnerability, and how to listen for the primary lesion in post-viral clients.
In this study group, you will explore:
The systemic nature of COVID-19 and why it is not “just a respiratory illness”
How ACE2 receptor distribution explains multi-organ involvement
Immune overactivation, cytokine storm, and immune depletion
Why COVID tends to impact each person’s “Achilles heel”
Clinical assessment and treatment of symptoms of long COVID using CranioSacral principles
Titration strategies to prevent post-treatment flare-ups
Drainage and meridian integration in post-viral recovery
The epidemiology and virology of SARS-CoV-2
RNA mutation and variant progression (Alpha → Delta → Omicron)
Reproduction number (R0), herd immunity, and transmissibility
Immune response dynamics: cytokine storm, inflammation, and depletion
Comorbidities and metabolic syndrome as clinical risk factors
Long COVID presentations affecting brain, cardiovascular system, liver, lungs, and nervous system
Clinical arcing, identifying the primary lesion, and avoiding symptom chasing
Drainage techniques and meridian integration (including liver meridian work)
Co-regulation, therapist presence, and pacing immune-sensitive clients
By participating in this study group, practitioners will: gain a grounded understanding of how COVID-19 affects multiple body systems and how immune dysregulation presents in clinical practice.
Therapists will:
Refine their ability to identify the primary system impacted
Titrate treatment of symptoms and body systems appropriately
Facilitate drainage before refilling
Support post-viral clients without overwhelming depleted systems
COVID is systemic and immune-mediated — not localized.
ACE2 receptors are present in lungs, heart, kidneys, gut, and brain
Symptoms often arise from immune overreaction rather than viral load alone
Long COVID presentations vary widely between clients
Post-viral clients are often depleted and easily overwhelmed.
Over-treatment can trigger “blowback” or flare-ups
Titration and pacing are essential
Listening globally before intervening prevents chasing symptoms
All components were recorded live over Zoom.
Your registration includes:
A full-length lecture on COVID, the Immune System & Long COVID: Clinical Applications for CranioSacral Therapists
Live demonstration illustrating meridian integration, immune dialogue, and titration strategies
Clinical insights drawn from over four decades of teaching and clinical experience
Practitioner Q&A
Lifetime access via the Online Training Center (OTC)
This study group is designed for CranioSacral Therapists, bodyworkers, and students of CranioSacral Therapy seeking to:
Work safely and confidently with post-viral and long COVID clients
Deepen understanding of immune-mediated pathology
Refine clinical reasoning and primary lesion assessment

Suzanne Scurlock, CST-D
Creator of Healing From the Core®
For more than 40 years, Suzanne Scurlock — senior instructor for the Upledger Institute International — has been helping CranioSacral Therapists and students strengthen and refine their palpation skills, sensitivity, grounded therapeutic presence, and confidence.
Her live courses, online study groups, and mentoring sessions support practitioners in every stage of their journey — from first discovering CranioSacral Therapy to mastering advanced SER work and beyond.
Suzanne is the author of two acclaimed books: Full Body Presence: Learning to Listen to Your Body’s Wisdom and Reclaiming Your Body: Healing from Trauma and Awakening to Your Body’s Wisdom.
Tim Hutton, LMT, PhD, CST-D
Tim is a Licensed Massage Practitioner in the state of Washington and has been in private practice in Bellingham, WA, doing CranioSacral Therapy, since 1994. In addition, he is certified in CranioSacral Therapy at the Diplomate level (CST-D) and teaches a variety of courses in CranioSacral Therapy for the Upledger Institute.
Originally, however, his background is in science. He has a Ph.D. in Physics from Rice University and worked as a research physicist at MIT. He first encountered CranioSacral Therapy when dealing with some health challenges of his own. It was so effective and intrigued him so much, that he wanted to learn more about it, and this started him on the path to where he am today. Tim is the ombudsman for CranioSacral Therapy and the Immune Response (CSIR) and
CST Clinical Applications.

Details on Our Study Groups
All the lectures, demos, and Q&A were filmed live over Zoom. You can watch from your location with a practice partner or on your own.
The beauty of this type of study group is that the cost of registration gives you lifetime access to the video to watch as many times as you need so you will get all the nuances that you may have missed during the initial lecture and demonstration. You can revisit the material again and again until you feel confident to put the skills into practice.
